It's been a crazy busy few weeks around here.  With school, tball, PTA, craft shows and work life has been zooming by at what feels like lightening speed.  Here are the daily pictures to catch us up!

"Twin Day!"  In hopes of preventing anyone from being left out Mia and I invited all her classmates to dress alike for twin day.  Super easy outfit with their class shirt and blue jeans!  It was a fun day!

Mia's first 5k!  She and I participated in the color run at school that raised money
to provide food for students in need. Mia did a phenomenal job handling having colored dust at her!

March!!!!

For March 3, 2014
So... I finally completely missed the daily picture of the school year for the first time.  :(   This is the next night but she is wearing the shirt she wore to school the day before.  We were treated to a Baylor Lady Bears Basketball game the weekend before by a super sweet couple we met at a craft show and Mia absolutely *had* to wear the t-shirt to school the next day.  I told Ben we were going to have to take her to a Bama game or she might just turn into a Baylor-ite by default!  LOL

Studying for her first spelling test!!!
I made flash cards with both the words and all the letters that made up the words so she would have all different ways to study for her test: Sight, Touch and Memory.

Spirit Day: Storybook Character
We got Mia a set of Ramona Quimby books for Christmas (Ramona was one of my favorites when I was little) and she and Ben have been reading through them at bedtime.  I was so excited when she told me she wanted to be Ramona for storybook character day!

March 7-11
SPRING BREAK!!!
We went up to Hot Springs, AR to meet my mom and all my siblings for the weekend before spring break.
We had such a great visit!

Mia decided she wanted to play tball again!
Her team color is Purple and there are 6 girls/3 boys and both of her coaches seem very sweet.
It's going to be a fun season!

Mia woke up to a pair of owls Ben had printed her!
Made another day of not getting to go to school a little easier.

"What Does The Fox Say?"

Mia is still battling the ear infections.  She had to get a shot of antibiotics and is currently on yet another set orally. We have our fingers crossed that this latest round will knock the infection out!  On a much happier note - we got notification that Mia was one of two kindergartners accepted into the Gifted and Talented program at Woodway.  We are so happy for her!!!  T-Ball starts back up just after spring break - between that and a trip to see my family we are all full of excitement!

So far behind...

I am so far behind on blogging.  With tons of school stuff and gearing up for another craft show I'll catch up soon but probably not this week.

We've had about 3 weeks of sickness around here including Mia's first ever ear infection which has been resistant to antibiotics so far.  We are heading back for our third doctors appointment this afternoon.  She was able to return to school yesterday (finally 24 hours without a fever) but she still can't hear very well.  :(  She cracks me up about her school.  She felt terrible but was still upset with me because I "made her lose her basketball" (the kids get a paper basketball with their name on it put on the wall for the "Never Been Absent").  Needless to say I didn't dare mentioned that she missed crazy sock day too.

We enjoyed a great visit from a Bama friend this weekend and ran ourselves ragged - all the great restaurants, Austin and the zoo kept us busy.   I'll post pics soon!

A shopping trip to Dallas, 100 cheerios and the 100th Day of School!

February 1, 2014
A shopping trip to Mesquite!

Mia and I jumped in the car with friends and headed up to Mesquite last Saturday to hit up a huge winter clearance store in a cute little shop called Once Upon A Child.  It was a fantastic day with new friends and lots of good deals!  Her outfit is an upcycle I made for her.

February 4, 2014
This dress was one of my favorite finds at the shop in Mesquite but Mia readily informed me that she didn't like dark brown - she only liked light brown so I asked if she would like it more if I added an "A".  Her reply was "that depends on the fabric you use"  ... little diva!  I've created a monster.  LOL  I have to say tho - I love it when she is opinionated about her clothes, etc. (even if it is frustrating at times).   It is so much fun seeing her come into her own.

February 5, 2014
This was Mia's favorite outfit from the shopping trip.  She told me she felt like a school teacher and she liked that because she "loves Mrs. Brock and wants to be just like her".

100th Day of School!!!!
Each Kindergartner was asked to bring in a baggy of 100 pieces of dry food to celebrate so Mia counted out cheerios for hers.
Today is also Jump Rope for Heart day and the theme was "Duck Dynasty".  Mia didn't dress up as Ben and I take issue with the school having a theme day supporting such a small minded, homophobic family.  I find it to be completely disrespectful to all our minority students and refuse to participate.
