Mia's Latest Artwork

I mentioned earlier that Mia had a piece of art she made in art class chosen to be displayed in an art exhibit at the local community center.
Here it is:

She also participated in a district wide art contest called Reflections.  She chose to do a pencil and crayon drawing on canvas for her entry.  The theme was Dream, Inspire, Believe and her piece of art had to reflect that.  It ends up that it is really hard to explain "inspire", "dream" and "believe" to a 5 year old.  I love what she came up with and evidently the judges got a lot of enjoyment out of her being "inspired by chocolate pie".  :D

Tuesday November 5, 2013 - White day

A piece of Mia's artwork from art class is being exhibited!  We are going to the reception tonight!  Can't wait to see it!

I absolutely love having Mia come home super excited about what she learned that day.  Today's excitement was about "A verb is an action word!", a lesson about the sense of touch and how to spell the color "red" - not to mention that they painted in art class.  

In other news - it actually rained (instead of going around us like it usually does) for a full 3.5 minutes...  LOL
